Promoting young people in the biodynamic movement

The Section for Agriculture has established a scholarship to help young people attend our movement's annual gathering at the Goetheanum and hold a contribution.

Young people worldwide are shaping the future of biodynamic agriculture, often under challenging conditions, particularly in low-income regions. In addition to a lack of recognition for their work with the land, they frequently face financial barriers and limited access to knowledge, including biodynamic research and spiritual science. Although biodynamics is growing rapidly on the African, Asian, and American continents, those working in farms and communities have to undertake the greatest efforts. It is important that these young pioneers are supported so that the ideas of the Agriculture Course are carried forward and come to fruition in the next generation.

Therefore, the Section for Agriculture has established a scholarship to help young people attend our movement's annual gathering at the Goetheanum. For many participants, this conference has been a life-changing experience, inspiring ongoing engagement with the Section and spreading new ideas to their local communities. Last year's scholarship recipients, for example, remained deeply involved, contributing articles, supporting education and research, and bringing insights back home. We believe the conference provides lasting inspiration and connections, making these scholarships a worthy investment for the future of our movement.

For the upcoming conference, we aim to support several young participants, giving them the opportunity to travel to Dornach and hold a contribution. Applicants should be under 35 and demonstrate a strong commitment to biodynamics. Scholarship candidates are selected through local biodynamic associations to ensure a wide range of dedicated individuals can be found and considered. Each scholarship offers CHF 900 to cover travel costs and conference preparation. Additional support, such as accommodation at the Goetheanum student dormitory, may be provided by the Section if needed. After the conference, scholarship holders will be invited to share a report on their experience, which we will share with donors and publish in the "Living Farms" magazine.

If you wish to sponsor a scholarship or contribute a smaller amount, we welcome your donation. Every donation goes directly to the scholarship recipients. The more funds we raise, the more young people can receive a scholarship. By contributing, you help ensure the next generation carries the conference’s ideas and inspirations into the world.

Scholarships can be sponsored until 9 December. Donations after this date will be applied to the following year. Important: Please select "Conference Scholarship" as the purpose for the donation.
